The Ronald McDonald House is a non-profit, community-based organization owned and operated by Southwestern Ontario Children's Care Inc.
Day-to-day operation of the 18-bedroom House is supervised by Executive Director Helen Grawburg, assisted by a host of Volunteers.

Check-in

  • 9:00am - 5:30pm
  • Provide information necessary to complete guest admission
  • Receive the House rules
  • Sign necessary papers
  • Receive the pager, door key and entrance door code
  • Pay the deposit
  • Tour the House with a volunteer
  • Check the room inventory with a volunteer

Check-out

  • Between 9:OOam and 2:OOpm (Checkouts after 2:OOpm may be charged an extra day's rent)*
  • Return the pager to the office
  • Houseclean the bedroom and bathroom for the next guest family
  • Wash and dry bedding and towels and place on unmade beds
  • Remove belongings from the room and food from the kitchen
  • Check the room inventory with a volunteer
  • Return the key and settle the account

*Exceptional circumstances will be taken into consideration. Please speak to Helen Grawburg, Executive Director.

Ronald McDonald House Offers You...

  • A friendly, safe, low-cost place, ($10 per night for the room)
  • A private room with full, attached bathroom
  • Accommodations for two adults and up to two of your children
  • Rooms for the physically-challenged
  • Fully equipped kitchens and laundries
  • A large supermarket nearby
  • The use of lounges, library, play rooms, and outdoor play yard
  • One designated smoking room
  • The use of a pager for night-time contact with the hospitals
  • A bus stop directly across the street
  • The assistance of caring staff and volunteers

Ronald McDonald House Asks You...

  • To register and sign a guest agreement
  • To observe our visitor policy and House rules provided in your room
  • To prepare your own meals and keep the kitchens and dining rooms clean
  • To eat all meals, snacks and beverages in dining areas
  • To supervise your children at all times
  • To smoke only in the designated main floor smoking room
  • To be responsible for items issued to you at check-in
  • To respect other families in the House
  • To respect quiet hours:
    • Bedroom areas - 9:00pm-8:00am
    • Common areas - 11:00pm-7:00am
  • To refrain from the use of alcohol and restricted substances in the House and on the grounds
  • To request any exceptions from Helen Grawburg, Executive Director and to advise her of any problems or concerns
  • To complete an infection control questionnaire. If you or your children are unwell or have been exposed to infectious disease, such as chicken pox or measles, you will be requested  to see accommodation elsewhere. These illnesses pose a serious risk to the health of some children
