Children's Hospital of Western Ontario within London Health Sciences Centre serves as a regional referral centre providing specialized paediatric services to children in southwestern Ontario. We serve children from birth to age 17 years. The southwest includes the 10 counties of Bruce, Gray, Huron, Perth, Oxford, Middlesex, Elgin, Lambton, Kent and Essex and extends southwest to Windsor, south to the tip of Elgin county, north to the top of the Bruce Peninsula and east to Kitchener. The region encompasses 28,972.41 square kilometers.

CHWO also supports other Ontario regions especially northwestern Ontario through its transport system. As a transplant centre CHWO also serves from time to time as a national paediatric health care resource.
