 Children's Health Foundation

Children's Health Foundation is dedicated to raising and granting funds to support specialized health care and research for children and youth - now and in the future. Fundraising for children's health care started in 1924 when the advisory Council to War Memorial Children's Hospital was established to administer the financial work of the Women's Committee and sponsor the annual campaigns.

The Children's Health Foundation raises money through radiothons and telethons, television, mail and phone appeals, merchandise sales, and events organized by the community that range from bake sales and golf tournaments to lotteries. Funds raised are granted each year to Children's Hospital of Western Ontario and the Child Health Research Institute.

Donors to the Foundation include individuals, small businesses, employees, service clubs, schools, corporations, foundations, and community groups.

In 2004, Children's Health Foundation granted $1.43 million to CHWO and CHRI.
